Tryouts are expected to be very competitive.
Be prepared to work hard, bring a great attitude, and be coachable!
This is an exciting new sport to most High Schools this season.
We play 7 on the field, and we are expecting to place 15 Players on Varsity to start the season.
We are planning on placing 15-20 Players on Junior Varsity for the Season.
There are a limited number of Roster Spots, and there will be cuts.
We will be looking to develop players into Varsity Level Competitors. There will be many opportunities for players to advance during the season and participate in Varsity games.
Tryouts will be held on the Back Field on all days.
The Back Field is highlighted Green on the Site Plan shown, access to the field is from the Senior Parking lot highlighted in Gold.
The Gate from the Parking Lot to the Fields will be open and Accessible.
Only Student Athletes, Coaches, School Officials, and Volunteers assigned to tryouts are allowed in the Field Area.
Student Athletes must have Athletic Clearance completed and cleared before attending any days of tryouts.
Student Athletes will not be able to bring Athletic Clearance Forms to tryouts, and must have the process completed before arriving.
Parents may view tryouts from outside the Fence and Field area, please do not interact with the Student Athletes as they are participating in tryouts.
Parents should not approach the Coaching Staff during or after tryouts, any Questions can be directed to titangirlsflagfootball@gmail.com
Participants should wear Cleats with no metal spikes, no Softball or Baseball style Cleats, Turf shoes are also ok. Athletic Shorts with no pockets or zippers, and a white or grey t-shirt or training shirt.
Bring a water bottle and possibly a sports drink.
tryouts will include evaluations of;
Athleticism - including Sprints, Speed and Agility Drills, Acceleration and Deceleration Drills, and the infamous Beep Test! Drills for Athleticism will be timed in most cases, and competitively evaluated in others.
Offensive Skill Sets - including Throwing, Catching, Route Running, Snapping, and more
Defensive Skill Sets - including Flag Tearing, Pursuit, Rushing, Pass Defense and more
The game of Flag Football requirements many different elements to be successful.
Coaches will be looking for Existing Skillsets, and potential for Development.
Opening Day of tryouts
2:30 Check in begins - Must have Athletic Clearance Completed. Must have Mouth guard, Dark Shorts with no pockets or Zippers, and a plain White or Grey T-shirt or training shirt
3:00-5:00 Tryouts, Including evaluations of Athleticism, Offensive and Defensive Skill Sets and Potential.
